Charitable Causes

The firm has been recognized for its initiatives, which include providing services to underrepresented communities and advocating for persons with disabilities. Barbara Barron and Steve Sather are recipients of the Constant Gardener Award from Advocacy, Inc., and Ms. Barron received the 2013 Volunteer of the Year Award from Jewish Family Services of Austin.

Manny Newburger received the State Bar of Texas’ Frank J. Scurlock Award for outstanding pro bono work and the Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas’ J. Chrys Dougherty Award.

Our Foundation

Through the Barron & Newburger Foundation the firm has supported a number of worthy causes, from scholarships at the University of Texas School of Law to organizations that benefit the Austin and Central Texas community such as AIDS Services of Austin, Volunteer Legal Services of Central Texas, St. Francis School and various arts organizations. The Foundation also supports the charitable efforts of firm employees by matching donations to qualifying charities.
