Kurt Sauer is the senior counsel managing the Commercial Litigation Division of Barron & Newburger, P.C. He practices out of the Austin office.

Experience
Mr. Sauer has tried cases throughout Texas for nearly 40 years in state courts, federal courts, bankruptcy courts and before Texas state agencies. He has represented clients in hundreds of business cases, including cases involving accounting, banking, construction, employment, insurance, intellectual property, lending and lender liability, oil and gas, real estate and other business matters. Mr. Sauer’s representation of bankruptcy trustees includes litigation against accounting and auditing firms, actuarial firms, banks, credit card companies, management consulting firms, insurance companies, former officers and directors, law firms and re-insurance companies.
Awards & Recognition
Mr. Sauer has served as Chairman of the City of Austin Airport Advisory Board. He has an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating and his pro bono work includes representation of clients in death penalty cases.
Personal
Mr. Sauer lives in downtown Austin with his partner, Laurie, and enjoys fishing, kayaking and the outdoors. His son attends college in Bozeman, Montana, when he is not fly-fishing, snow skiing, backpacking, or camping. His daughter attends college in Hawaii, where she can often be found surfing or snorkeling or studying in a hammock under the palm trees at Waikiki beach.
