Appellate Litigation

The entry of a judgment may only be the first step in the ultimate resolution of a dispute.  The firm’s appellate litigation team defends favorable judgments and challenges unfavorable ones on behalf of clients in state and federal courts across the country.

Our Approach

We represent a wide array of clients – from individuals and small businesses to large national entities – in state and federal courts.  We also have substantial experience in representing the positions of interested groups as friends of the court in cases before the United States Supreme Court and other federal and state courts.  Our goal is to help clients with favorable judgments keep them, help clients with adverse judgments obtain relief on appeal, and help interested parties have their positions heard by judicial decision-makers.

We recognize that by the time cases make it to the appellate stage parties have invested significant financial and often emotional resources into the process, and we respect that investment.  We bring our experience to the courts when necessary and into the conference rooms when appropriate to obtain the best results in what is often the last chapter of longstanding disputes. For many corporate clients our firm’s understanding of business operations translates into an ability to better articulate the position in an appeal.
