Paul Hammer is a Senior Counsel with Barron & Newburger and leads our Houston office. Mr. Hammer practices primarily with the firm’s Bankruptcy and Reorganization Group.
Prior to joining Barron & Newburger, Mr. Hammer has worked in the litigation and bankruptcy sections of large national law firms. Among Mr. Hammer’s responsibilities was to serve as outside general counsel for an international energy company. Paul has extensive experience in handling bankruptcy and reorganization proceedings in a number of economic sectors including energy, healthcare, and retail. His clients have included Trustees, equity holders, executives, insurers, financial institutions and Committees.
Paul has significant ability to handle complex matters in the areas of bankruptcy and reorganization, commercial litigation, corporate governance, strategic business planning, dispute resolution and risk management. He has been intimately involved in one of the largest debt restructuring proceedings in history. Early in his legal career, Mr. Hammer completed clerkships for a federal district court judge and a bankruptcy judge.
Awards & Recognition
Paul is fluent in Spanish and is able to assist his clients with any Spanish language needs. Outside of the office, Paul is a proud parent and has been an active volunteer with Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and the Houston Bar Association, “Consejos Legales” program.
