Charles I. Murnane



Charles Murnane works in the Austin Texas office of Barron & Newburger, P.C. He is a member of the firm’s Bankruptcy Practice Group and the Commercial Litigation Practice Group.



Charles brings a wealth of bankruptcy and litigation experience to the firm with an extensive background in bankruptcy court, state court and federal court experience.


Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Murnane has practiced extensively in Houston.  He had specific experience in  contract disputes, real estate and other commercial disputes for a wide range of clients, including construction suppliers, a national automotive parts distributor, bankruptcy trustees and commercial landlords and tenants.

Awards & Recognition

Charles was a Dean’s Scholar Recipient at the SMU Dedman School of Law where he served as a Staff Editor for the International Lawyer which us the official triannual publication of the American Bar Association’s International Law Section.  He was also an officer of the Katy Bar Association in 2018-2019.


When not practicing law, Charles can be found spending time with his family, enjoying Lake Travis, or playing Tennis.
